Our commitment
Space Design wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with landmarks, headings in order, and a “Skip to content” link.
- Full keyboard navigation with a clearly visible focus indicator, including the mobile menu, filters, gallery lightbox and forms.
- Colour contrast checked for text and controls. The brand blue #3F7196 (from the logo) meets AA contrast on white and off-white backgrounds.
- Form fields have visible labels, required fields are marked in text, and errors are announced and linked from an error summary.
- Animations are subtle and are switched off when your device requests reduced motion. Background video can be paused, and never plays on mobile.
- Portfolio images have editable text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Videos use native controls, posters and support for captions (WebVTT).
- Information is never conveyed by colour alone.
- Layouts reflow down to 320 px width and support text zoom to 200%.
Known limitations
- Some drawings and plans may be provided as PDF files that are not fully accessible. Contact us for an accessible description.
- Captions for project videos depend on caption files being supplied; some videos may not yet have them.
- Placeholder illustrations are used until project photography is supplied.
